OVERLEIGH HOUSE
WELCOME TO
OVERLEIGH HOUSE
Step inside Overleigh at break time, and you’ll instantly feel
the buzz - laughter, chatter, and a whole lot of energy. We
are a house full of spirit, where every girl is encouraged to be
unapologetically herself. Overleigh isn’t just a house; it’s an
extension of home - a place where you can kick off your shoes
and be exactly who you want to be.
Kindness is at the heart of our house. If someone’s having a bad
day, they’ll find a listening ear, a supportive word, and probably a
well-timed snack. We challenge injustice, discuss the big issues,
and believe that every voice matters.
I have been the Housemistress since 2024, having previously
been Assistant Housemistress since 2019. I have been a business
teacher at Millfield for a lot longer, having joined in 2009. I am
married with two daughters both at the senior school, so I fully
understand the journey the Overleigh girls go through. I also
coach hockey, and enjoy volleyball in the summer. When not at
school, I enjoy travelling, reading and cooking.
We might be competitive, but whether we win or not, you’ll hear
us cheering the loudest at every house event. Overleigh girls
throw themselves into everything - sports, academics, music,
drama, and, most importantly, supporting one another. There’s
a deep sense of pride in being part of Overleigh, and that comes
from the way we lift each other up, celebrate successes (big or
small), and make sure that no one is ever left behind.
So, whether you’re a future sports star, a musical genius, a quiet
bookworm, or just figuring it all out, there’s a place for you here!
