What triumphant year, Year 7 have had. They
have bonded as a group and grasped the variety
of opportunities available to them. Academic 06
lessons and trips, music performances, sporting
events and outdoor activities have enhanced
their learning and resilience and given them the
determination to persevere and aim high.
We began the year with a pilgrimage to
Glastonbury which helped the pupils to acquire
a sense of place and knowledge about our local
area. Culminating in a walk to the summit of
Glastonbury Tor, Year 7 were able to look down on
our school and contemplate what they would like
to achieve in the year ahead.

Year 7 enjoyed researching and talking about topics
they were interested in for the English department
‘Speak Out’ competition, performed well in the
            Bebras Computational Challenge and attended
Millfield School for a science show. Chepstow
Castle, Slimbridge Wetland Centre, Weymouth and 07
Portland National Sailing Academy have all been
adventurous days out. 01 Hiking up Glastonbury tor.
