d. Instructional Materials
In pursuit of academic excellence and in line with our commitment to
deliver quality instruction, the development of scholarly works Instructional
materials as a model for professional development.
Development of Instructional materials aims to facilitate the teaching-
learning process; guide classroom teachers while presenting various learning
theories; supply concrete bases for conceptional thinking and reduce meaningless
work responses for students; sustain a high degree of interest of the learner for they
offer a reality of experience; and develop a continuity of thought.
In addition, IMs seek to compliment efficiency of a teacher, and effectiveness
in lesson delivery; concretize ideas and stimulate learners’ imagination; increase
active participation in the learning process while saving teacher’s energy and
reducing the teacher-centeredness in teaching; enable learners to participate
actively in classroom instruction; help the teachers to teach conveniently and the
learners to learn easily without stress; and complement classroom interaction and
textbooks in order to broaden and arouse students‟ interests in the subject.
In recognition of the extra effort of the faculty members in developing/ writing
the IM, the author/s shall be given 50% of the net income derived from sales of the
IMs as royalty. The remaining 40% becomes an income of the University Printing
Office to be disposed or used according to the IGP Manual of the University while
10% shall go to the University as administrative cost.
e. Professional Development
Other activities which highlighted the support to continuing education in
enhancing the professional capability of faculty are annual gathering, conduct of
seminars, tree planting activity and apart from their duties and responsibilities, the
college had been practicing the following activities such as Monday rituals, birthday
celebration, honoring retirees, visiting the sick and bereaved member of the faculty.
f. Awards and Entitlement
The Performance Based Bonus (PBB) is the totality of performance of an
individual faculty and the college as well. An individual performance adds up to the
whole performance of the college or unit every year. The government is giving this
PBB, which had helped support the financial capacity of each faculty and had been
more motivated in performing their duties and responsibilities.
