 In December 2017, during the end of the year Minerva Foods holiday party, the CEO, Fer- nando Galletti de Queiroz, thanked all of those who contributed to the exceptional results the Company had achieved, highlighting two as- pects in particular: appreciation and focus. They encompass the whole meaning of the ideals that have guided the Company since its founding in 1992, when the Vilela de Queiroz family acquired Frigorífico Minerva do Brasil S.A., an abattoir and beef processing unit in Barretos (SP) which serves as the Company’s headquarters to this day. Appreciation and fo- cus on management, governance, sustainabili- ty, the market and relationships with all stake- holders, are what drove the Company’s first 25
years, an achievement reached in 2017, and will continue to serve as a guide for our future ac- tions. These two aspects lead the way for Min- erva’s geographical expansion in Brazil and to initiate its international rise, entering into Par- aguay, Uruguay, Colombia and Argentina. Appreciation and focus are applied to the Company’s own resources – human, organiza- tional, structural and technological. Through- out Minerva’s history, these aspects ended up adding value to its production processes, its product quality and as a result, its business. It was thanks to these differentials that in 2017, the Company took the lead of in natura meat exports in South America
