The Company has also adopted a corporate En- vironmental Impacts and Aspects Management program, aimed at the execution of action plans based on a survey of environmental impacts across its entire industrial complex. In parallel, the Company has developed training programs for leaders to incorporate aspects of social and envi- ronmental sustainability when making decisions.
Water
In past years, the Company initiated studies on water usage, providing support for optimization of consumption without adversely impacting the quality of processes. With resources to pre-
vent leaks and the use of modern equipment to manage water resources, Minerva seeks to min- imize its maximum water consumption with most water being used in production activities. Most of the Company units are supplied with surface water that goes through treatment sta- tions before being used in production. Environ- mental supervisors monitor the entire process and report the results to factory and corporate managers, which promotes an integration be- tween the areas in order to increase the efficient use of hydric resources.
See the GRI Appendix for a table on total water discharge, separated by quality and destination.
