At all units, any waste sent has appropriate doc- umentation,  led to prove disposal, which in- cludes the Waste Transport Manifest (WTM), the checklist of the truck that will perform transportation, invoice, certi cate of dispos- al and the respective licenses of the collecting companies and disposal locations. In the case of waste deposited on agricultural soil, analyses are done of the material as well as the soil.
In 2016 92,561,251.59 kg of waste was recycled, of which 1,919,292 was paper, paperboard or colorless plastic.

Energy
Industrial units are responsible for their own energy management, providing data to the En- gineering department on a monthly basis, which is in charge of managing consumption. In addi- tion, indicators such as value (in Brazilian cur- rency) per kilo of deboned product are managed, considering energy consumption. With the ex- ception of Goianésia, all factories acquire energy on the free market – Araguaína, Barretos, Batay- porã, Campina Verde, Janaúba, José Bonifácio, Mirassol d'Oeste, Palmeiras de Goiás, Rolim de Moura and Várzea Grande.
