Day Four: Miss Homan’s Year 4/5 class, Mrs Russ’ Year 6 class and Mrs Penner’s 2/3 class each had an opportunity to explore the properties and uses of glass by engaging in various hands-on activities. Each student could also make their own living terrarium to take home. We are thankful for our Year 7,8, and 9 students who did a great job assisting with the activities today!
Day Five: Miss Hensel’s Year 6 class, Mrs Clifford’s Foundation class and Mr Russ’ 3/4 class eagerly engaged with a range of glass-themed hands-on activities, challenges and crafts! Our Foundation students were able to take home their own hand-made kaleidoscopes, and the older students were able to design their own mini-terrariums. We thank Miss Roocke and Mr Bacher, along with their Year 8 & 9 students, for making these visits an exceptional experience for our primary classes.
Several of Harvest’s students had the opportunity to take part in an engineering activity at the Copper Coast University Centre for National Science Week. Activities included building a wind turbine and testing the wind velocity it produced. The students enthusiastically developed their turbines and were given three attempts so they could continually improve their designs.
