Year 1/2 Class review “Mazy The Movie Star”
Last week in the Library, Miss Hunting’s Year 1/2 class became one of the first classes in Australia to read
“Mazy The Movie Star”, written by our very own Isla Fisher with fantastic, humorous illustrations by Paula Bowles. The Year 1/2’s quickly learned to recognise the book’s puns (all related to dogs!).
After reading the book, the class created a list of questions for Isla about her life and writing, which will be passed on to her shortly. We give this book 5 stars!!
Year 7 English students launch their own picture books!
The Year 7 English students have launched their own picture books! After studying visual texts and how picture books often have a deeper meaning and are aimed at a specific age group, the Year 7’s created their own books. They used various images to enhance their narratives. Year 6’s were invited to read, give feedback, and listen to some of these beautiful stories.
