 From the Wellbeing Team
An opportunity exists for Harvest Christian College families to participate in research conducted by the Black Dog Institute. Please see details below:
At the Black Dog Institute, researchers have developed an Online Mental Health Check to identify symptoms of anxiety and depression in Australian primary school children. We are planning to evaluate this check to see whether it improves children’s access to evidence-based care. The research we are doing will be a clinical trial to evaluate this check and answer the following research question:
Does personalized triaging significantly improve access to evidence-based mental health care for children aged 6 to 12 years compared to children aged 6 to 12 years receiving standard care?
Participants who meet the following criteria will be eligible for this study:
• Parents of children in Grades K to 6 in Australia
• Children in Grades 3-6 in Australia
• Access to a device (e.g., laptop, phone, tablet, desktop)
to complete the study questions
• Can consent and complete questions online (with help if needed)
Parents will be able to receive a report with evidence-based support information included. Sign-ups will close on the 10th October 2022.
You can find out more information about the study through the link below: https://www.blackdoginstitute.org.au/research-studies/online-mental-health-check-for-kids/
