Our Foundation to Year 3 students competed in various events, including the distance hit, accuracy throw, vortex throw, soccer speed dribble and 50, 60 and 70m sprints. All the students competed well and displayed great sportsmanship, cheering on their peers throughout the day.
After the morning session, it was time for the 100 metre sprints. Unfortunately, the rain set in at this time; however, this didn’t dampen the spirits of the students competing. Following the sprints, we had our final event for the day, the 4x100m relays. The Foundation to Year 3 students loved being able to cheer on their fellow housemates during this time of fast paced action.
The Hughes team took out the spirit shield due to their costumes, chants and cheering throughout the day. Tyndale finished the overall day in third place on 2084 points, Hughes came in second on 2242 points and Lewis won the overall day on 2371. This was the first time they have won a Sports Day since 2014, so congratulations again, Lewis. I am looking forward to Harvest’s next Sports Day.
