INTRODUCING THE CERTIFIED FORENSIC DEATH INVESTIGATOR (CFDI)
Thank you for considering this CFDI Program, developed by Associates in Forensic Investigations and in
partnership exclusively with the Criminal Defense Investigation Training Council (CDITC) and specifically for
Criminal Defense Investigations.
First, this is more than attaching CFDI to your signature line and CV. We also offer support and networking.
We want YOU to succeed!
1. Our agency is available to you to offer guidance on your case. We will offer support guidance at no
charge. If you or your client requires our expert consultation, we will discuss details at that time - and
offer YOU a discount or referral fee more generous than the standard.
2. As a new Program, we need CFDIs to support and network with each other. This includes a CFDI only
listserv, listing on this website as a CFDI or CFDI-Expert with full contact information.
3. You will have the option to use, at no charge, the email @CertifiedForensicDeathInvestigator.com (not
a stand alone service, but a forwarding service).
The CFDI will enhance any Criminal Defense Investigator, and all CDITC and other preeminent certifications
and experiences to bring your Criminal Defense Investigations to a new level of advanced knowledge and
skills for the most demanding Criminal Defense Investigations areas – involving Death and Serious Bodily
Injury (SBI) incidents. You will also have unique access to collegial networking and continuing education.
The CFDI is intended to challenge, educate, and elevate you as a Criminal Defense Investigator. To get
started, you must meet three basic requirements as a Criminal Defense Investigator: 1) Qualifications; 2)
Complete and pass the basic Pre-Requisite Courses; and 3) Completing and passing this advanced-level
Program. There is no substitute for education, training and experience - and continuing education to
maintain your CFDI. Once attaining the CFDI, annual Continuing Education is required. Also, once the CFDI
has testified three times as an expert, the designation is upgraded to CFDI-Expert. Testimonial proof is
required.
Meet the following qualifications:
1. You must be actively licensed (or business registration if an unlicensed state), employed, or in-house
providing Criminal Defense Investigations.
2. You must have at least 4,000 hours of aggregate documented private investigations experience.
* The CCDI or CLI designations waive this requirement.
