The Thin Dark Line: Suicide among the ranks
By Steve Davis
(Amazon - www.amazon.com/Thin-Dark-Line-Suicide-among/dp/B088NXZC2K)
This book is illustrating my journey and experience as a police officer among the epidemic of police suicide. The book
starts with my experience as a child dealing with suicide, and takes the reader through events that occurred in my life
while working as a police officer in a large metropolitan area. The book takes you through real heartbreaking
experiences and the hope and faith that helped me and others deal with loss and tragedy of a subject that is often
overlooked and not talked about.
Steve is a good friend and Past President of PPIAC, now Chief at Mountainview PD; in his 40 years of law enforcement he
was also US Army MP, Denver PD, and Chief of Nederland PD.
We have several friends, current and former law enforcement - federal, state, local, and military. We are sure this may do
as Steve hopes - help just one walking the Thin Dark Line (and you know how to reach us any time you may find yourself
in that place).
Expect coronavirus-related insurance frauds to rise
(shared by John Morris, PPIAC Board Chairman and EVCO Investigations in CO)
Americans are reeling from the shock of COVID-19. The pandemic could last for months. If it does, the financial damage
to millions of consumers and businesses across the nation will rapidly accelerate. Fraud fighters are ramping up for a
surge in insurance scams. A new norm of business shutdowns, dwindling personal savings and a free-falling economy
may cause decent Americans to cheat their insurer for a fast cash infusion.
