The Role of the Extracellular Matrix
To be healthy, your cells must be constantly fed. For
this to happen, molecules must pass from the
bloodstream through the extracellular matrix and then to
the cells. Similarly all waste products that the cells
produce leave the cell and must pass through the extra
cellular matrix before being removed from the area via
the lymphatic (garbage disposal) system.

pink -extracellular matrix
For the body to work as a coordinated whole, signals
must be sent from one part of the body to any associated
parts. These signals, including nerve impulses and
hormonal signals, must pass through the extracellular
matrix before they can reach the cells. The message
here: The state of y our extracellular matrix and how
well it functions is very important.
