PREFACE
Literacy and numeracy are essential foundations for lifelong learning, yet many
young learners struggle when lessons feel disconnected from their experiences.
Project ANYAG (Advancing Numeracy and Yielding literacy Achievement through
Great stories) was initiated by Banga South District, Schools Division of South
Cotabato to address this need through contextualized stories that make learning
meaningful and engaging.
This ANYAG Storybook integrates reading and numeracy into culturally relevant
narratives, helping Grade 1 learners grasp concepts in a familiar and enjoyable way.
For teachers, it serves as a valuable resource aligned with the MATATAG Curriculum,
providing structured yet flexible lessons that enhance classroom instruction.
Through this initiative, we aim to nurture young readers and problem solvers,
making learning a truly Maanyag (beautiful) experience for all.
