My Autistic friend
I have a friend called Yahya, he used to play with me only, he didn’t have any
other friends. he doesn’t participate in the classroom and rarely answers
questions. He doesn’t speak to anyone in the school apart from me.
One day I came to my mum and asked her why my friend Yahya acting like
this. She answered probably because he is autistic. this was the first time I
ever heard of this word. Then my mum started explaining what autism is.
Some people they have this syndrome that they don’t socialize or very
keen to have relationships with others. They like to stay alone. So my mum
advised me to help him whenever he needs help and support him with
everything since he chose me his only friend. I felt really sad because I really
like him and I want him to play with my other friends but I chose to spend
my break with him as my mum said Allah will reward me for staying with
him and helping him. Whoever is merciful with people Allah will be most
merciful with him.
