P. 18
This year has been filled with fun and enriching learning experiences for the children in ECC and Kindergarten. The school year began with the children learning about themselves, exploring similarities and differences,
understanding various family structures, and fostering a sense of identity and community. Following this, the children dived into the "Ocean Treasures" unit where they were captivated by lessons on aquatic life. They enjoyed
discovering how ocean animals survive through fun facts, videos, and picture books, sparking their curiosity about the natural world and marine ecosystems. ECC students also engaged in the "Let's Play Outside" IEYC unit,
enjoying outdoor play-based learning activities. They planned and built a river, learning about its features like the source, mouth, and flow, and participated in splash days, caring for tadpoles, earthworms, and fish, which
showed their growing interest in nature.
The IPC unit "A Day in the Life" provided another exciting experience, where children learned how daily lives differ among people and spent a memorable school day with children from the Goodwill Foundation, engaging in
learning, playing, and sharing gifts. They also explored the history of television and visited a television station to understand how shows are broadcast. To conclude the year, children chose styles from the internet, and the
school tailor crafted unique outfits for them. They spent a day with a batik professional, creating beautiful batik designs on their outfits, a fitting end to their learning journey.
Overall, this year has been an incredible journey of discovery, creativity, and growth for the ECC and Kindergarten students. They have developed a deeper understanding of themselves, their peers, and the world around
them, laying a strong foundation for their future learning.
