Guidelines onTechnology Transfer andCommercialization
It is hereby a policy of the University to share knowledge and
technologies among government and other institutions toensurethat scientificand
technological developments are accessible to a wider range of users who can
further develop, share or exploit the knowledge (for socioeconomic or technical
database) for policy formulation and technologies for developing new products,
processes, materialsorservices.
Thefollowingguidelines shall beadoptedintechnology transfer and
commercialization:
• Test against maturity indicators-passingthepilotingstage, stability
orindustrystandardsand riskassessment evaluation;
• Test against viability (STEEP)indicators – social acceptability,
technical feasibility, economicviability, environmentalsoundness
andpolitical acceptability;
• Technology promotion through publicity and other appropriate
communication strategies suchastechnologyforumandother
fora;
• PublicationinrefereedR&Djournals, R&Dhighlights, etc.;
• Tappingof conduits or channels for technology transfer and
commercialization liketheUniversityBusinessAffairs Office
(UBAO)asvenuefor:
▪ Developingthecriteriaof commercializing thetechnologies generatedin
theUniversity;
▪ Moduledevelopment for crops, livestock, forestry, andenvironment, etc.;
and
▪ Incomegeneratingprojects that complement thethree major thrusts of
theUniversity;
• Tappingof Technology Development Centers likeLandBank.
