The good news is that most issues, if they do arise, typically happen within the first year of treatment. Exceptions do apply%u2014such as uncontrolled diabetes or smoking, which can seriously affect the health of oral structures, including the bone supporting the implants. But here%u2019s more good news: we don%u2019t perform implant therapy on patients with uncontrolled diabetes. As long as your condition is well-managed, dental implant therapy is usually very successful.
