mom and the girl that is always on
her phone follows. “Ashley!!” Her
mom yells and grabs her away from
me. I soon learned that the older
sister of Ashley is named Jessica.
Jessica walks up to me and pets me
while saying that I am lost. “Are you
girls crazy? That is a wild deer from
the forest,” the mom says. The mom
paused and it was quiet. Ashley
broke the silence and said we
should take me home to their
house. “No,” her mom says. “Let's
go home.”
ASHLEY’S
POINT OF VIEW
We climbed in the car leaving Dotty
behind. The car started and we
came out of the parking lot and left.
On the way home Jessy (Jessica)
says something. “I cannot believe
you left the poor fawn there.
Someone can easily kill it. It is lost
from home, and you leave it there
expecting it find its way home. It is
far from home!” Jessy yells. She was
not always like this. She used to be
a playful girl and did not really care
about technology. But, like 3
months ago, her dad died from
Pneumonia which changed her
personality. She was never the
same after her dad’s funeral. Jessy
would skip dinner and stay in her
room on her phone watching
YouTube for hours. The only time
she eats is when she feels like it and
that is rare. Mom said, “That is a
wild animal, and it can kill us.” “It is
a fawn, and it can DIE out there.
Don’t you care?” Jessy says. “I really
don’t because-” Mom was cut off by
hooves clacking on the road. I
looked. I could not believe it. It was
Dotty!
FAWNY’S (DOTTY’S)
POINT OF VIEW
I was alone again but Ashley gave
me one last look before climbing
into the van. I know this would
sound crazy, but I am going after
their car. Once the car pulled out of
the parking lot and drove away, I
got up on my wobbly legs and ran
after the car. I was amazingly fast
and caught up with the car. I was on
one side of the car hopefully to not
lose my speed. Ashley looked out of
the window and saw me. She
looked shocked!
JESSICA’S
POINT OF VIEW
I could not believe Mom did not
help the fawn. I looked at Ash
(Ashley) confused why she looked
so shocked and surprised. I looked
at was she was so shocked about.
There was a fawn running right next
to the car! “OMG! Mom pull over!”
Mom looked confused and stopped
the car. “Why?” she asked
suspiciously. “Look!” I pointed to the
fawn that stopped running and
looked very tired. Mom saw what I
was pointing at and screamed.
“What in the world!” Mom said
shocked. Ash said, “Mom, please,
pretty please, can we adopt it,
please?” She said with puppy eyes.
“Yeah, Mom. Please?” I say with
puppy eyes also. “Umm fine only if
you treat it right.” “Yeah!” Ash and I
speak. Ash opens the car door and
lets the fawn in. I pet it while it sat
down.

FAWNY’S (DOTTY’S)
POINT OF VIEW
I am walking with Jessica who is now
14 years old and Ashley 13 years
old. I am now 6 years old. I am a
service deer who helps animals
from wildfires. The three of us are
walking in the forest. The girls are
talking about this game they like. In
the distance, I see a squirrel. I run
toward it and the girls are chasing
after me. That is when I realize it is
fake and see an older deer in the
distance. I walk toward it and see
that it is my mom! I run toward her
and say “Mom!” “Fawny!” Mom says
and runs towards me and hugs me.
Jessica and Ashely ran behind me,
and they see my mom. Mom growls
at them but I tell her that they are
my friends and I live with their
mom. She stops growling and
allows them to pet her. “Wow.”
Jessica says. “So cool!” Ashley says.
Mom looks at me and says, “You live
with them?” She asked. “Yeah, but
that I am back with you I guess I will
say goodbye-” I got cut off when
mom says no go with them. “I am
too old to take care of you, Darling.
They are young enough to take care
of you,” she speaks. “Hopefully, we
meet again. But for now, goodbye.”
She hugs me and leaves. I whimper
and look at the girls. “It is okay.
Don’t worry; you will be fine,” Jessica
says. “Yeah, you will be fine without
her anyway. Plus, she is incredibly
old. "Ashley says. Jessica punches
her in the arm. “Ow!!” Ashley yells.
“Come on let's go home.”
Jessica says. We got home and
started getting ready for bed.
“Goodnight, Dotty.” Ashley says.
“Yeah, good night, Dot.” Jessica says.
“Good night to both of you guys.” I
say in my head. Ashley is the first to
sleep, then Jessica. My eye lids to
get heavy and I fall asleep hoping
one day I bump into my mom again.
