The next chapter of her life took her to America where she
spent time as a missionary. While in America she was joined by
her three eldest daughters, Dazzlin, Retinella and Tizville. Mavis
later returned to live in London, and she travelled between the
United Kingdom, America and Jamaica where she continued to
be the wonderful person we all know and love.

Mavis lived an independent life and did things how she wanted,
but always ensured she gave consideration to others. She
became interested in soft furnishing and attended college on a
soft furnishing course. As you can imagine the family became

inundated with cushions, curtains and quilt covers. She was
extremely proud of her sewing skills and so were we especially
when she received her certificate at the end of the course.

Mavis’s accomplishments have been many throughout her life,
and we have all benefited from her in so many different ways,
but her greatest accomplishment is that she was a loving praying
Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and friend. She will be
     greatly missed by all.
