decreases direct air pollution from machinery, vehicles and power
stations. Conservation also reduces the number of harmful extraction
projects and related spills. Coal mining and nuclear power accidents

have caused serious harm to the environment.

Promote Health

By conserving fuel, people can protect the health of fellow humans as
well. Pollution causes or exacerbates a wide range of serious medical

problems, such as lung cancer and asthma. This results in unnecessary
suffering and health care expenses.
