Saffron sensed that the bird was repressing his excitement, he kept flying from branch to branch and hopping sideways. Maybe there was something he hadn’t told her, but she didn’t have the time to hang around trying to prise secrets from an alien, feathered midget. The T.V. was already on when she walked through the front door. That was really unusual, because Tom and Angie loathed what they called mindless background noise.
