The video cut to an interview outside the town hall with the Mayor who was quite a jolly looking man. He would have even suited a Santa Clause costume, but his voice was as sleazy as his smile was insincere.
'Your Worship,' began the journalist, 'I understand that the suburban subdivision recently approved at Green Mountain has been a subject for public concern and protest within your community ...'
'Protests? I haven’t heard of any protests. Mind you, there’s always a minority of troublemakers, they’d be against any sort of progress ...' said the Mayor, smiling insincerely, '... all due procedures were put in place - public submissions were invited and considered.'
The interviewer continued, 'At the extraordinary council meeting, I believe that a large gallery turned up - people making presentations to the council, trying to influence the decision.'
