‘It’s abstract expressionism,’ chuckled Mr Worragul from behind them as they studied the mess. ‘Don’t worry, it’s still readable. Do you girls need any help organising your protest?’
‘We’d like to get a petition going - but we don’t know how to word it.’
‘That’s simple,’ he declared, ‘I’ll bring you in a sample showing how they’re set out and you can type yours out on the school computer tomorrow.’
When school was finished for the day, Saffron ran along the streets towards her home. The house seemed strangely different. For a start there was a flash, little car parked outside - one of those ones that generated their own electricity and hardly used any fuel. They called them "hybrids" in a magazine article she had read.
