‘Hey Ronnie, I’ve brought in that petition to show you. It’s cool if you use the art-room computer at lunchtime.’
‘Thanks Mr Worragul, I’ll be there.’
She bribed Abigail, who would have preferred to spend lunchtime outside gossiping about boys, to come and help her. The bribe always worked. Saffron simply had the best lunches in the whole school - and little Abigail, who had an enormous appetite, loved to share them. Today's lunch was the leftovers of the picnic dinner from last night. They guzzled profiteroles and tried to work out what to say on the petition.
They were feeling stuck and stupid when Mr Worragul turned up to rescue them.
