Defected have cemented their worth as one of the leading house music labels in the world since their inception! Often on many studio sessions here in the South West, budding artists have asked me to try and come up with some grooves that would suit their imprint.
Holland's Franky Rizardo started working for Defected in 2010 delivering a selection of remixes that won favour internationally, before releasing on other leading labels such as DFTD and Stealth. He has now produced a sample CD for aspiring house music producers to check out.
With Sample CDs, you sometimes get those that are really detailed and you can create monsters with instantaneously (check out Dave Parkinson's wicked House Essentials for one such example), or those that seem ill prepared with just a selection of throwaway loops that have already been used.
Thankfully here, we are given a selection of awesome one shot drums, chords, bass sounds as well as some drum loops to alter and intricately fill up tracks to give them detail. At 490 MB, for the recommended retail price it certainly delivers, and is worthy of a purchase for those who are looking to make funky and soulful house. Look out for it!
