Harrison BDP – Shape of your mind EP [Standalone records]
Based in Wales, Harrison BDB has had a string of successful releases under his belt and this is sure to continue with this dancefloor weapon. “Where memories lie” is Chicago house at its finest, deep but with bags of soul. “The shape of your mind”, with its glitchy breakdowns and throbbing bassline, takes us into darker territory. Next “Frost on the window” takes us back into deep house territory, with a bouncing undulating bassline and synth stabs giving the character to the track whilst the drums skip along. Finally “Cool air” keeps things deep, and gives the dancefloor and the listener what they need. https://www.deejay.de/Harrison_BDP_Shape_Of_Your_Mind_EP_STV002_Vinyl__941671
Julian – Mind Blowing Thoughts EP [Eliptic]
For their 5th release, eliptic bring in the talented artist Julian for this multi genre release. “Reflection” takes you by surprise straight away, as its of kilter breakbeat and drone lead are combined with the repeating vocal to give the track a strange atmosphere. Next “outer limits” continues the broken beat feel, with a similar drone giving the atmosphere to the track.
“Thoughts bistro” takes us into four to the floor territory, whilst still keeping the feel of the first two tracks, whilst “Sativa” rounds things off with its luscious pads and synths, its a definite journey's end.

VID – No ginger no fun EP [Visage LTD]
Visage, the French imprint known for its eclectic back catalogue, continues that theme with this beautiful EP from VID. “Attracted” is a Four Tet inspired house track, full of live sounding percussion and organic sounds. “No ginger no fun” goes in a darker direction, with an ominous bass and organ sound, but again in keeping with the organic feel. It doesn feel like music by machine here, this has feeling. Finally Andu Simion remixes “Attracted” and goes for an electro feel with the drums whilst adding some serious 303 into the mix with the bass. Not remotely similar to the original apart from a few sparse elements its a great contrast.

Gabriel Mancino – Canticum EP [Future Plans]
Label boss Gabriel Mancino comes to the forefront and takes the reigns for this great four track EP. On the A-side, both “Canticum” and “mc2” have similar feels to them. All about the minimal feel here, with chugging basslines, and sparse elements coming together to form a solid union.
“modul one” has an almost jazzy feel to it, with its glitchy, off kilter synths, almost sounding like they've been curcuit bent. Finally “Its a kind of” rounds things off with the most minimal track of the lot. Little more than a drum beat and some samples. It willwork in the right context and for the right DJ. https://www.deejay.de/Gabriele_Mancino_Canticum_EP_FTPL004_Vinyl__942549
Boris Werner – Caught in a bubble [Caught in a bubble]
Boris Werner has taken it upon himself to start his won label, and the debut release is a perfect showcase of the man's talent and scope. Crammed with collaborations, first track Caught in a bubble” features San Proper and Gretz, and is a souldful house track, with live sounding guitar and a spoken vocal asking all to just “let it out” whilst the synths and drums roll on in the background. Next The Funky Bunch feature on “I like to do the beatbox”, a funky, unique sounding track, with obscure sounding synths and solid 4/4 drums. Ion Ludwig remixes he title track on the flipside, and turns it into a more recognisable dancefloor tool, with solid tech house drums and adding effects to the vocal. Finally “Rhythm and beat yes?” a solo offering, with rising synths and sparse drums.
