Emma Jai flew in from Ireland to play for us and Chloe Fontaine, our radio show presenter also flew in that day from London especially for our event. Phutek made an appearance too, as well as Paul Sawyer opening the event.
It was amazing to see so many people attend and especially to get the chance to meet with so many people that we deal with through the internet and have the chance to meet face to face. Jay C made an appearance, it was good to see him again and discuss a release that we have coming out in 2016 with a remix from him.
From the Tara we made our way to the Manual label party with all of our team and we had the opportunity to spend some time with our friend Zoe Belucci, who incidentally works on some PR for Krafted and also D. Ramirez, and Zoe's partner Justin Ballard. Justin has a release due out on one of our labels in 2016.
We bumped into Robert Mason and Amber Long at the Manuel party, these guys had flown in from Canada for ADE and this was the second year in a row that we'd seen them out there. Sonic Union was playing when we arrived and Dale Middleton had also waked in for his slot later that night. We also saw Darin Epsilon making a short appearance although he was playing at another event that night.
Day Three:
It would have been very easy to write off the day on Saturday after two nights and two days of full on ADE, but we had more meetings booked and wanted to at least attend one talk at the conference after two days of meetings!
We bumped into Judge Jules for a short chat and also the guys at Audio Lock and
had our first meeting of the day with Jason from Proton Radio. Our radio show is currently broadcast on Proton every Friday morning and we also spoke about coming to the US in 2016 for another appearance at Airpusher, one of the crews at Burning Man. We are attending Burning Man in 2016 with the crew, so it was good to speak about planning the way forward.
Another signing was agreed in principal for a collaboration track by Paul Sawyer and the Redux Saints from LA, which will be out in 2016 on Proton's Particles label.
The afternoon was spent attending the conference talk 'Talking About Your Event' moderated by Damion Pell from Decoded Magazine and included a panel of promoters from Germany and the Netherlands.
It was certainly a useful and interesting debate that included information on how the different promoters approach curating their festivals and club nights to the type of acts that they book. It was even more interesting to hear their take on ticket selling DJ's, something that none of the panel had heard of. Compounding that this type of deal for dj's was mainly UK or US based.
So Saturday night was all about Krafted taking over the radio station Amsterdam Most Wanted. Emma Jai was up first for her 2 hour show and then Chloe Fontaine, and Paul Sawyer provided beats for another 1.5hours live to the City.
Day Four:
As you can imagine, this was certainly a day of rest! Three nights and three days of non-stop networking, partying and meeting new friends, and connections. We made our way back to The Tara where we held our event on the Friday night and
spent most of the day chilling out in their lounge. It's a venue that has a restaurant, bar/club space, snug and even a smoking room for those who smoke! Something that you certainly don't see in the UK anymore.
To summarise, the third year for Krafted at ADE was the most successful so far. We come away with new signings, tracks licensed, new artists on board and new connections with events and labels. We attend as many conferences as we can during the year and ADE is definitely teh highlight of the year for us. Roll on next year!
The Amsterdam Dance Event took place this year from the 14th to the 18th of October and is organised by the Stichting Amsterdam Dance Event, an initiative of Buma. Official Partners of ADE: KPN and Samsung.
