Sherry getting married! Another high flyer bites the dust I thought.
I remembered her words to me, ‘you want to get married? It puts a dampener on love and especially sex’.
I would call her this week. I didn’t want to reveal my address just yet.
I decided to go for a stroll down the lane to contemplate the news.
Looking around the country side, the large green meadow, with its crops of hay swaying in the warm breeze, and the cattle grazing. So peaceful. I knew I’d made the right decision. Life is wonderful. As I headed back to the cottage I thought of Tony and although sad I thanked him for giving me this chance to start again.
As I approached the cottage after my brisk walk I spotted a figure disappearing around the rear of the cottage.
Who could that be? I thought.
As I came to the front door the figure revealed itself.
‘Amber?’
‘Rex?’
We both said surprised.
‘We thought you might be ill in bed Penny has been calling all morning’, Rex said in one breath a little embarrassed at being caught snooping.
