‘Yeah but Paul and Seki were at each other’s throats yesterday and this morning’, Penny whispered looking exhausted. ‘I was glad to see the back of them’, she confessed.
‘I’m sorry to hear that, I think it’s just that Seki isn’t used to working and a bar is certainly not her scene, you have to agree?’ I pointed out.
‘You’re right but this is Paul’s future this will be his one day, I don’t want him to give it up for someone who is never going to settle in or appreciate it all. He has been down this road before and gotten hurt I just want him to be happy’, she wiped a tear from her cheek these last few days certainly have been an emotional rollercoaster for her.
‘You’ll just have to talk to them but maybe Paul first’. I poured us both a coffee she nodded in agreement as we both drank in silence.
‘I’ll let Rex take his break now’, Penny rubbed her eyes clearly shattered by it all, ‘could you make him a snack as we haven’t had anything since breakfast’, she called Rex in from the bar.
He strode into the room, lifted me out of the chair and twirled me around kissing me hard.
‘Rex! Rex, someone will come in’, I laughed feeling dizzy not sure if it was his energy or the kiss.
‘Alone at last, I want to take you to bed now’, he said lovingly.
‘Behave’, I warned him, ‘finish your sandwich’, I laughed then, kissing his cheek. ‘I need to get prepared for my first class on Monday’.
‘Oh, Darling please can I see you tomorrow?’ Rex pleaded.
‘Are you working all day?’ I asked reluctantly.
