refused him he would hurt her or if she had to marry she would end up taking her own life’.
‘Oh my God! Penny what are you going to do? It sounds like a very dangerous situation, I knew there was something off, but I couldn’t have imagined this, this only happens in films’.
‘Paul says that he loves her as she does him and she wants to marry Paul, hopefully for the right reasons, she believes if she changes her name she’ll never be found’, She continued on to tell me that they were thinking of going to Scotland to a friend of Paul’s who had agreed to put them up until they could get married they planned to go for about a month to give themselves plenty of time to submit their marriage notices. ‘The reason they are not speaking’, she told me getting upset again at the realization of the situation, ‘Paul told Seki he had to tell me and wanted my advice and approval’, I gave her a hug, ‘I’ll do whatever I can to help with the situation’, I promised.
‘Can you be here after closing time? I would like you to be here for me’, she pleaded, ‘I would be very grateful if you could help out at the bar too when Paul and Seki go. I know it’s a lot to ask you have so many other things going on, but I could really do with you being here’.
‘Of course, I’m here for you’, and I meant it.
The bar was starting to get busy and Rex called Penny for some back up. I gave her another big hug before we both went through to the bar. I passed behind Rex and gave him a loving squeeze on his bum, ‘I’ll hold on until closing time’, I smiled at a delighted Rex.
We couldn’t wait for to close the bar it felt like the longest night ever. Once all the customers had left and we had all tidied-up Penny gathered us all into the main room,
