Beyond Recovery: How Elevate is Bridging the Gap for Transition Age Survivors of Human Trafficking - 5/7/19
Presenter- Kathy Bryan is a gifted speaker, consultant, mentor, author and survivor of human trafficking, Kathy works tirelessly to communicate the truths of trafficking in America, having trained thousands of medical professionals, law enforcement, community service providers, and faith-based communities both in the U.S. and abroad. Her ability to illuminate truth in a palatable, engaging manner leads the listener to heightened understanding, inspiring action.
Kathy joined RBI in 2014 and serves as Director of Elevate Academy and Lead Mentor, where she empowers other survivors on their journeys to obtain fullness of freedom. She serves on the board of Into the Light, is a member of the National Survivor Network, the Survivor Leader Institute, and the Survivor Alliance.
She was instrumental in changing the human trafficking legislation in her state by testifying several times before the Arkansas Congress, resulting in the passage of three new laws. Kathy is a consultant for the Department of Homeland Security’s Blue Campaign and various anti-trafficking organizations.
Content Summary- In this webinar participants learned about the recently launched Elevate Program through the Rebecca Bender Initiative. This program seeks to help aging out youth and adult survivors of trafficking achieve stability, security, and long- term healing. Applying a free Psycho-educational curriculum, 50 online video lessons, and connections to career-coaches and a supportive survivor community – Elevate can provide vital service to youth survivors transitioning into adulthood.
Elevate exists to give providers the permission and the process to help survivors find their voice, tell your story, and make sure it is heard. Elevate offers over 10 different courses to cater to every stage and story, with personalized teaching that will give them the tools to reach their goals.
Elevate also teaches practical things high school forgot — like how to structure a business and avoid getting nasty tax surprises — but it’s more than just business clarity. This resource will provide them with a community of coaches and achievable goals to mold their life into exactly what you want it to be.

Presenter- John Pizzuro CF, Lieutenant, ICAC Commander New Jersey State Police, has 23 years experience from a State Police Agency and in that role is The Commander of a Regional Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. In addition, to running a task force and overseeing 70 affiliate law enforcement agencies. John Pizzuro is a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Public Awareness and Education Committee and has been a co-facilitator of the National Children’s Alliance Work Group on Child Pornography and Exploitation.
