SINGLE PARENT HOUSEHOLDS
This measure shows the percentage of children (less than 18 years of age) in family households that live in a home headed by a single parent. The single parent could be a male or female and is without the presence of a spouse.
This measure is included as both a consideration for poten- tial higher risk, such as financial hardship due to loss of employ- ment, as well as a source of potential strength as
a dedicated protective influence and source of stability in the life of the child. In considering how our CACs engage with different family structures, we can tap into protective resources which aid the efficacy of our services. 2017 data was removed from public access source so 2016 data is presented here. From 2016 to 2017 this measure decreased statewide. It is un- known why the more recent data was not avialable.
