CHILDREN BELOW 50% FPL
This indicator reports the percentage of children aged
0 – 17 living in households with income below the Federal Pov- erty Level (FPL). Considering poverty rates is relevant because poverty creates barriers to access including health services, healthy food, and other necessities that contributeto poor health status. Often, poverty is intergener- ational and is compounded in communities where current and historic policies have limited access to resources and opportunity. ACS has not col- lected or released data for those below %100 FPL. Pop- ulation is evaluated at 50% poverty level and should not be compared with last years data.
