Inadequate Social/Emotional Support, 18 and Older
This indicator reports the per- centage of adults aged 18 and older who self-report that they receive insufficient social and emotional support all or most of the time.* This indicator is relevant because social and emotional support is critical
for navigating the challenges of daily life. Additionally, good mental health is linked to educational achievement and economic stability. Updated data is needed to avaluate this measure in any further detail.
* BRFSS includes age adjusted prevalence in their estimates, a statistical process that allows comparisons across communities with different age structures.
