 INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the 2018 Community Assessment Report developed by the Ohio Network of Children’s Advocacy Centers. The following report exists to provide a biennial benchmark regarding the experiences and service needs of Ohio’s children.
By using publicly available secondary data sets – particularly the American Community Survey - in conjunction with outcome measurement data regularly collected within the CAC network, we aim to provide transparent insight into how Ohio’s CACs are providing healing to Ohio’s children and families.
This report is developed to assist our CACs, partner agencies, grantors, legislators, and other community stakeholders. Secondary data referenced in this report is from calendar year 2018, unless otherwise noted due to varying intervals in which these different data reporting sources collect their information.
Because this assessment is largely based upon secondary data, it should be considered a starting point to developing a more comprehensive understanding of community conditions, where the perspectives of residents, stakeholders, and organizations will provide critical context and insight into actual experiences and needs out in the field, at the ground level.
