OPIOID MISUSE AND ADDICTION
This indicator reports the DEA monitored quantity of High- Strength Opioids per capita in various regions throughout Ohio and may be indicative, though
not predictive, of an increased likelihood of misuse. That being said, it does, however, indicate a potential for increased availability. While the associations between the opioid epidemic and child maltreatment requires further study, it is clear that substance use by youth or in the home increases further likelihood of exposure to ACES related experiences.
