P. 47
CONCLUSIONS
This report sought to gain insights into several persistent objectives that guide our CACs work within our communities. In other cases, this report is laying the groundwork to find answers to questions that are beyond the scope of a single snapshot report. Let’s look at what we’ve gleaned from this year’s data:
What populations are not being captured in the referral process or otherwise underreferred?
• Linguistically Isolated Household/Youth with Low English Proficient
• Households with No Vehicle
• Youth and Families with Physical, Sensory, Cognitive, and Developmental Disabilities
• Homeless/Housing Insecure Youth
Define true access. Who has it?
Children reported for maltreatment, law enforcement referred, and referrals from partner providers. Further discussions within our communities are vital to define this going forward.
What services are accessed?
• Among the services most commonly utilized in 2018:
– Onsite Forensic Interviewing: 6,661
– Medical Exam/Treatment: 4,435
– Referral for Counseling/Therapy: 2,499
– Counseling/Therapy: 1,408
Are services culturally responsive - and if so, how?
Current programs like the ONwards Initiative are working to expand this core objective throughout our network. Specific opportunities exist to explore this through primary data collection from member CACs.
