This Online Course is designed to provide information,
instruction and examples, on preparing for and managing
safety, a spill of fluid and the use of company spill kit and
associated resources.
This course covers all aspects to insure your best preparation, understanding your
response and obtain Accreditation to standard RIIRIS202E - Response to Site Based
Spills. Our course is interactive, designed in Adobe web design, Scorm compliant and
uploaded to Talent LMS a World recognised platform for e-Learning courses.
This course requires you to be assessed in understanding and
competency
It covers both the online activities as well as a formal spill scenario
exercise
Assessment pathways: recognition of prior learning (RPL) and
Recognition of Current Competence (RCC) are also available.
A statement of Attainment will be issued on successful completion of the
course.
Two Course Options are available:
• Basic Course (1 hour)
• Accredited Course to Competency Unit: RIIRIS202E - Respond to site-
based spills- with Practical Exercise (5 hours. Min.5 people) – RTO: ACM

Spill Response training Courses are provided by Spill Control Training Pty Ltd – an
experienced company with a strong background in providing training and resources
Director: John Whalan –
John has protected organisations by comprehensively training individuals to protect both the people they work
with and the environment in which they work. John Whalan as a CERT IV TAE trainer and has a combined
industry experience of over 28 years in both training and as a leading importer of Spill Response Products.
From small everyday spills to major heavy industrial catastrophes, John has provided the spill response training
to small and major companies throughout every Australian State and New Zealand. John’s courses were
approved by the following RTO’S, TAFE NSW and ACM Training Services.
During the last 22 years, John has also been responsible for introducing to Australia and N.Z many of the spill
"icon" products used by industry today.
John has completed the following courses in Spill Management.

• National WHS General Construction Induction Course
• Safety Access - The Rail Corridor Course
• ARTC One-track - Track Safety Induction

John’s training programs bring the required understanding and competence to your organisation that

Trevor has 45 years’ experience in the consultation and supply of products and expertise to industry and
government agencies with the last 22 focussed in the Environmental Spill Response field. A Certificate 1V TAE
trainer in Workplace Training and Assessment, Trevor has a very keen interest in delivering and providing
Training Courses to help clients comply with Environmental and WHS legislation and to assist workers to
safely respond to spill events. Based in South Australia, this Spill Response Training and Product Supply
services have been provided to Major Industry, Mining, Transport and Construction companies, Councils and
Government Departments, Emergency Services and Institutional Organisations. Trevor also received an EPA/
KESAB Environmental Technology Award in 2000 for assistance with education and improvement programs for
business.
