WELCOME TO MONKEY ISLAND ESTATE MODERN BRITISH CUISINE ON A PRIVATE ISLAND ON THE RIVER THAMES
Primely situated in the heart of Bray, an area known for its delectable food scene, Monkey Island Estate boasts over 800 years of history and was the preferred haunt to numerous monarchs, aristocrats and performers. It’s dining offering reflects the hotel and restaurant’s exclusive location and whilst promoting seasonal and rustic dining through using local and organic produce.
The beautiful private island, sitting on the banks of the River Thames provides the perfect spot for a long lunch or traditionally English afternoon tea, to be enjoyed looking out onto the terrace with striking views of the river, or in the stylish Monkey Bar. Those who choose to dine inside, can look in wonder at the monkey inspired, 17th Century frescoes which adorn the ceilings of the Grade I listed Monkey Room.
Available seven days a week from 12-5pm, Monkey Island’s Afternoon Tea is filled with delectable treats, made with seasonal British ingredients. The team have elevated this quintessential offering, with Loch Duart salmon and cream cheese, and truffle egg & chive finger sandwiches, as well as handmade cakes such as chocolate & raspberry delice and lemon posset with fresh berries. These delicate flavours can be enjoyed with a chilled glass of Champagne for a special occasion, or the more traditional choice of tea, of which Monkey Island Estate provides a wide selection, ranging from Earl Grey and Redbush to more unique options such as Assam and Raspberry.
Surrounded by history and lush lush green gardens with blossoming flowers, Monkey Island Estate is the place to enjoy a special day out this summer.
