Mid UK Recycling Driver Risk Assessment & Safe System of Work
Important NOTES to Drivers:
The drivers MUST conduct the risk assessment on arrival at a customer
premises to prevent any injury or damage.
Three points of contact should be made when exiting / Entering the
vehicle.
Drivers MUST ONLY use the provided manufactures steps, foot holds, and hand holds on
the vehicle if they are to climb onto the vehicle.
Drivers are reminded that they are NOT to use saws, crowbars, or additional tools to cut
protruding objects away from the bins (prior to loading the bin) if the net does not fit over
the load. Contact the transport office.
Any damaged bins identified by drivers must be phoned through to the office manager for
plans to be made to have them repaired.
All damaged nets are to be reported to the office.
The driver must NOT climb onto bins to net up.
The driver MUST ensure they check the bin for loose waste RASSoW 08Q
and debris and secure it prior to netting up. RO-RO Lorry Operations
When manually netting up a bin, the driver is to ensure the
bin is at ground level.
