Mid UK Recycling Driver Risk Assessment & Safe System of Work
Loading & Unloading the Trailer:
Safe Loading Practices. Regardless to the type of vehicle driven care must be taken to
ensure that the vehicle is not overloaded, or any height restrictions breached. Height
indicators in the cab must be set and changed for every load on a Beauparc vehicle.
During the times of transporting the produce, if the driver hears or feels that the load has
moved then he / she most slow down (he/she must not brake harshly) and park in a safe
place as soon as possible.
The driver should make immediate contact with their line manager, discuss their concerns
and take the agreed actions before continuing the journey. In any event the driver must
not continue with the journey if they believe there is a danger in any way because of the
movement of the load, if the shifted load is significantly affecting the stability of the
vehicle or the control of it, or if he/she thinks there is risk of any part of the load
becoming detached or falling from the vehicle.
