Life Issues and Life Verses Guide

Both of you discuss what follows, do so honestly. All Jesus-followers
encounter one area of temptation that’s especially troublesome, and it’s
important that you focus your attention on that area as you prepare to
resist temptation.
To be honest, all three areas may pull at you, but one will probably be
especially challenging. Share together what it is and, together, plan how

you’ll use Scripture to defend yourself.
You’re strapping on armor to go into battle; pick the right weapons.
All three areas of temptation are identified in 1 John 2:16:

“For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes,
and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.

Generally speaking, temptations—let’s call them “life issues” be-
cause they significantly impact your life—fall into these three categories:
