CHILD CARE & SUPPORT
LANGENBURG AND DISTRICT DAYCARE CO-OPERATIVE (LDDC)
LDDC is a provincially licensed childcare center established in 2001. The specially designed facility was built in
2010 by the initiative of community volunteers.
An experienced, professional staff offer a fun and educational experience for children as young as 6 weeks old.
The LDDC early childcare educators receive ongoing training to ensure an ever changing and engaging
environment for children. The programming is developed with guidance from the Ministry of Education. The
LDDC employs a full-time staff cook, who is certified in Safe Food Handling techniques. All snacks and the
lunch time meals are prepared onsite in health inspected Mosaic Nutrition Centre and follow the Canada Food
Guide.

LANGENBURG PUBLIC LIBRARY
Langenburg Library has a large selection of books, video materials, and e-resources for adults and children that
can be ordered in the library or on-line. The library runs these programs:
Preschool Story Time Program. Library program for children ages 2.5 - 5 years old;
Little Tot's Playtime. Weekly program for children ages 18 months to 2.5 years old;
Babysitting course. Once per year for students 12 years old and up. The library has a list of students who
finished the course and are available to babysit.
Also the library organizes Spring and Fall Tea & Bake sales where you can purchase books for a reasonable
price.
