                Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory of India, (until October 31  2019 a state), located in northern
                part of Indian subcontinent centred on the plains around Jammu to the   South   and the value of

                Kashmir to the North. The Union Territory is part of larger region of Kashmir, which has been the
                subject of dispute between India, Pakistan and China since the partition of the subcontinent in 1947.
                 The lifestyle of the Jammu people is not very different from the rest of the people of India. They are
                deeply religious and value their culture and heritage a lot. Religion plays a Central role in their lines

                and regularly visits numerous temples scattered around the city.
                Both men and women can be seen in modern and traditional attire. The majority of Jammu people
                speak Dogri, Gogri, Pahadi, Kashmiri, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu. The traditional dress of people here
                is Pheram and Poots, which is worn by both men and women. Along with this Mughal style turbans,

                headgear, Taranga belt of Pashmina and coloured scarf are also worn by the people. The principal
                languages spoken are Kashmiri and Urdu.
                The music of Jammu and Kashmir has been influenced by a variety of musical influencer, including
                that of Central, Eastern and Southern Asia. Some of the most famous musical forms practised in

                Kashmir are Chakri, Henzae, Ladishah, Rouf,Hindusthani, Classical and Sufiana Kalam.
                The rich culture of Jammu and Kashmir also includes several dances that are performed during
                birthdays, festivals and other special occasions. Some of the traditional dance forms are Dumbal,
                Kud, Bhand Pather, Rouf Hafiza and Bacha Nagma.
