General course information
The aim of this course is to ensure all delegates are competent to operate the selected Tug truck/Tow tractor. Trainess will understand the importance of good maintenance and safe operation prcedures including manoeuvring with a trailer into designated areas.
Course content
n The Health & Safety at Work Act
n Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations
n Workplace Transport Safely
n Operators safety codes (safe driving practices)
n Tug/Tow tractor stability and capacities
n Pre user safety inspection
n Practical manoeuvring in restricted areas
n Trailer reverse and deposit
n Knowledge based therory test and practical testing
Experience required
No prior knowledge of topic required

Facilities / requirements
A training room suitable for the number of delegates will be required. Access to the companies Tug truck/Tow tractor and trailer for practical exercises.
(The companies Safe System of Work will need to be available for the delegates)
Availability Certification
On-site ITSSAR and In-house available
Certification renewal
Recommended every 3 years however this may depend on the company’s risk assessments and internal policies.
