Life within Serangan Village has been concentrated on the

activities of sea farming and also commercial fishing. They have

also spent a substantial amount of time practicing their dances,

music and many other cultural activities. One important aspect

to the Village life is the connection to the spiritual world and

many within the Village also practice religious rituals in

accordance to either the Hindu or Muslim teachings. Both

religions have co-existed peacefully here and both sides have

respected each other’s religious needs. Children have been

exposed to the cultural aspects of the Balinese community and

have practiced dancing, musical instruments and singing.
