Judy Mulford
Judy Mulford considered her art to be an
autobiographical scrapbook, celebrating
the essence of family, which she cited as
the primary influence in her life. In Help/
Siring Soldiers to Sacrifice (Reading Be-
tween the Lines), Mulford added bullet
casings to buttons, beads, and molded ba-
bies, to make a statement about the plight
of mothers in war zones, her sympathies
with those who were “siring soldiers for
sacrifice.”
