Here for you As a member of West Midlands Police Federation, you are covered under our umbrella. The Federation is there to protect you, to support you, to represent you and to advise you when you need it most. We represent you in individual cases of investigation or discipline and can give you and your family wider support when you are under stress; a wholly necessary protection given the widespread risks that individual officers face. As well as negotiating for the best possible welfare, pay and conditions on your behalf, we offer free medical advice and assistance to pursue civil claims for such things as injuries sustained at work and accidents on duty, defamation allegations arising from police duty and criminal assaults. We also offer legal advice and support to those facing disciplinary allegations. We work tirelessly on behalf of you, our members, and are there to support you in whatever you do This booklet highlights just some of West Midlands Police Federation’s work on behalf of members in 2013. These figures do not take into account the many hours of phone calls, emails and conversations that both the Federation office team and your local Federation reps have on a daily basis to help and support our members.
