Inspector Steve Malone of the Coventry
neighbourhood police team will undertake
a 15-hour endurance ride on a bike bolted
into a static ‘turbo-trainer’ on 15 October.
Steve says: “I have a young daughter
and after hearing about Millie-Bea I was
desperate to do something to help. I enjoy
cycling and a challenge so this seemed
ideal.”
Meanwhile on 4 November Sgt Charles
James will take part in a boxing event,
‘Between The Pillars of Truth’, with the
proceeds of tickets sold by Charles and
Natalie contributing to the fund-raising.
The money raised will pay for the
operation to help Millie walk. Millie will be
eligible for the operation next year, when
she is three.
The cause has led to numerous
successful fund-raising ventures in the few
months since the appeal was launched with
donations from West Midlands Police
